Length:

This career studies certificate is a one semester certificate.

Purpose:

This career studies certificate is designed as a stackable credential.  These classes relate to the structure of the corrections system, human behavior, inmate treatment standards and juvenile corrections facilities.

Occupational Objectives:

The occupational objectives focus on how to help inmates understand and deal with change, manage difficult behavior and make effective decisions. Core course topics can include:  Security practices, parole and probation, legalities in corrections, juvenile justice practices, criminal justice operations.

Admission Requirements:

Admission to the Career Studies Certificate program is based upon the general requirements for admission to the college.
