Information Systems Technology: Ethical Hacking and Penetration Testing Specialization, AAS

Degree: Associate of Applied Science in Information Systems Technology with a major in Information Systems Technology and a specialization in Ethical Hacking and Penetration Testing

Length: Four-semester (two-year) program

Purpose: This curriculum is designed for those who seek employment in the field of Cyber Security (information assurance), for those who are presently in IT or a security field and who desire to increase their knowledge and update their skills, and for those who must augment their abilities in other fields with knowledge and skills in information security.

This curriculum prepares students for the CompTIA Security+ certification and other computer certificates. These skills prepare students to compete in the largest growing area in computer careers.

Occupational Objectives:
Information Security Analyst

Admission Requirements: In addition to the admission requirements established for the college, entry into the Information Systems Technology: Ethical Hacking and Penetration Testing Specialization program requires competency in English and Math Essentials MTE 1-5 as demonstrated through the placement and diagnostic tests, or by satisfactorily completing the required MTE units or equivalent.

Program Requirements: The curriculum includes technical courses in Ethical Hacking and Penetration Testing as well as related courses in Information Technology and general education. Instruction includes both the theoretical concepts and practical applications required for success in the field of Ethical Hacking and Penetration Testing. The student is urged to consult with the Student Services Office and his or her faculty advisor in planning his program. Upon successful completion of the four-semester program, the graduate will be awarded the Associate of Applied Science in Information Systems Technology with a major in Information Systems Technology and a specialization in Ethical Hacking and Penetration Testing.

The following list is a suggested sequence in which students may plan their class schedules to ensure graduation in two years.
