Science, Specialization in Veterinary Preparation

Degree:  Associate of Arts and Sciences with a Specialization in Veterinary Preparation.

Length:  Four-semester (two-year) program

Purpose:  The Associate of Arts and Sciences in Science, Specialization in Veterinary Preparation, is designed to fulfill the course requirements and suggested electives to apply to the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine and to prepare students for the admission interview process.

Note:  Completion of the program does not guarantee admission to the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) Program.  Students who do not gain admission to the DVM program after completion of the Science, Specialization in Veterinary Preparation program will be prepared to transfer to a 4-year university in a science curriculum.

Program Requirements:  Students are urged to become acquainted with the DVM admission process and consult with the Student Services Office of the community college in planning their program and selecting electives.

4PHY 241   and PHY 242  if MTH 263  and MTH 264  have been completed

5Social Science Electives:  ECO 201 , ECO 201 , PLS 211 , PSY 200 , or SOC 200
