Science, Specialization in Food Animal Production, AA&S

Degree:  Associate of Arts and Sciences in Science with a Specialization in Food Animal Production

Length:  Four-semester (two-year) program

Purpose:  The Associate of Arts and Sciences in Science-Specialization in Food Animal Production is designed for persons who plan to transfer to a four-year college or university to complete a baccalaureate degree focused in Agriculture.  By selecting appropriate electives, students should be able to complete the lower division requirements for a variety of baccalaureate majors in Agriculture.

Program Requirements:  Students are urged to become acquainted with the requirements of the major department in the college or university to which transfer is contemplated and also to consult with the Student Services Office of the community college in planning their program and selecting electives. 

The following list is a suggested sequence in which students may plan their class schedules to ensure graduation in two years.

1In consultation with your academic advisor, the Mathematics requirement may be selected from the following sequences:  MTH 161  Precalculus + MTH 240  Statistics or MTH 161   + MTH 261  or MTH 261  + MTH 262  or MTH 263  + MTH 264  .

2Students transferring to the Agriculture and Applied Economics Program should take ACC 211  and ACC 212 .

3Course may be chosen from Literature General Electives:  ENG 241  , ENG 242  , ENG 243  , ENG 244  

4Students may choose a health, physical education or recreation course that promotes physical & emotional well-being.
