Length:  This career studies certificate is a one semester certificate.

Purpose:  The Mental Health Career Studies Certificate provides students with the foundation classes to explore a career in helping individuals who suffer from mental health issues. 

Occupational Objectives:  Positions in the mental health human services fields include social service assistants and counselor assistants.  Social service assistants work under the supervision of social workers or psychologists to assist clients with mental illness find services and support. Mental health counselor assistants work under the supervision of mental health professionals in providing supports and intervention sot those with a mental illness. 

Admission Requirements:  Admission to the Career Studies Certificate program is based upon the general requirements for admission to the college.
