Degree: Career Studies Certificate Welding II

Length: This career studies certificate is a one semester certificate.

Purpose: This curriculum provides advanced welding skill training that will be useful in a broad range of industrial careers.

Occupational Objectives: This curriculum provides both hands-on training and a detailed knowledge base in the most prevalent welding and cutting processes used in industry today.

Admission Requirements: Admission to the Career Studies Certificate program is based upon the general requirements for admission to the college.

First Semester

WEL 166 Advanced Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) 3 credits
WEL 124 Shielded Metal Arc Welding (Advanced) 3 credits
WEL 161 Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) 3 credits
WEL 235 Advanced Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) 3 credits
WEL 141 Welder Qualification Tests I 3 credits
WEL 142 Welder Qualification Tests II 3 credits

Suggested Credits for Semester: 18
