Carpentry II Career Studies Certificate


Degree:  Career Studies Certificate Carpentry II

Length:  This career studies certificate is a one semester certificate.

Purpose:  This career studies certificate builds on the Carpentry I CSC as a stackable credential that continues to teach students in the field of carpentry and allows all courses successfully completed to be applied to the Carpentry Program.  In the Carpentry CSC II, students learn more in-depth information about the following:  Blueprint interpretation, identification of structural components, cost estimation of labor and materials, frame structures, roofing application, drywall installation, siding application and exterior trim.

Occupational Objectives:  The objectives are to build on a basic foundation in this field that does not require a degree or individuals who wish to increase their knowledge and/or skill. Students completing this level will be prepared for employment in the Carpentry field as entry level carpentry helpers.  Courses in this program can be used as stackable credentials.

Admission Requirements:  Admission to the Career Studies Certificate program is based upon the general requirements for admission to the college.

This CSC Carpentry II may be applied toward an AAS in Technical Studies related to Carpentry.

Total Minimum Credits Required for this Certificate: 18


CSC I and CSC II must be completed to count one year towards licensure.
